Welcome back to another Under $50 Friday. This week the focus has been on preparing for a hurricane or an emergency.

The following items are less than $50* and made in the USA.

1. Flashlight

via Amazon

Flashlights are a must-have when the power goes out. Have different sizes of flashlights and at least one for each family member.

2. Batteries

via Amazon

Energizer AAA Batteries, MAX

Energizer AA Batteries, MAX

Energizer C Batteries, MAX

Energizer D Batteries, MAX

Because batteries will operate many of your gadgets when the power goes out, it is important to stock up on them.

Test each item in your emergency kit to ensure each is in working condition.  These may include flashlights, lanterns, emergency radios, personal fans, toys, just to name a few.

Make sure that there are batteries for each item to run for an extended period of time.

3. Dust Mask

via Amazon Accumed N95 Mask
assembled in the USA
*made with globally sourced materials

N95 masks became a requirement to go anywhere during the pandemic. They are certified for protection against 95% of non-oil based particles 0.3 microns or larger.

The masks are necessary if you have to evacuate to a shelter, or if you encounter structural issues exposing you to harmful particles.

4. Book

Reading is a good way to pass the time when there is no power. Be sure to have a few set aside in case your devices do not work.

5. Plastic Sheeting and Duct Tape
Plastic sheeting and duct tape are listed on an emergency list because of their numerous uses. They are used to create waterproof barriers and protect you from extreme weather such as heavy wind and rain.

Conclusion

Finding hurricane supplies under $50 and made in the USA may pose a challenge, but with challenge comes change.

How will YOU be part of the change?

Always remember: Nobody appreciates you and your business more than the people behind the made in the USA name!
