When our littles are not quite ready to eat the big people food, we have to make sure that their food is included in the emergency food kit.Other items to include in the emergency kit are bottles, diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream.
You know your little one best, so include anything above and beyond these items in your kit. This is a scary time for them and anything that can be done to keep them feeling safe and occupied, will also help your stress level.
Another optional item to include is insect repellent. If you have no power and spend more time outside, it may be something to consider.
2. Pet Food

In case of emergency, have at least a two-week supply of pet food and water. Emergency agencies provide assistance, but pet food may not always be available. Those beloved four-legged family members will appreciate you for having the proper amount of food.
Another item to remember is extra water. When buying water for the rest of the family, include the pets in your head count.
After a storm, pet owners leave pets behind if their family now faces financial or residential challenges. This is part of the preparation process. What if this happens.....?
When deciding on a proper diet for your feline friends, choose a cat food that includes meat. Cats are obligate meat eaters, meaning they need meat in their diets. Dogs, on the other hand, are opportunistic carnivores, meaning they can eat that includes meat and/or a vegetarian diet.
3. Baby First Aid
When you have kids, a first-aid kit is a necessity. Prior to an emergency, ensure that you have everything that your baby, and/or child(ren) will need.
Check to make sure that everything is well within the expiration date, and that it is all in one central location. There is nothing worse than needing a first-aid kit and not knowing where it is.
The alcohol wipes will be used to clean the tweezers and thermometers before and after they are used.
